Ayous Lakes
August 2007

A classic trek to the Ayous Lake. Looking East, dominating the view, the "Pic du Midi d'Ossau" (2884m) was ever present along the route.

This is a highly frequented spot, and the great weather invited numerous visitors. I met some really nice people where I camped: A couple and their two little girls (my neighbors for the night), who were walking the entire route around the great peak, and another, much more experienced, fellow lone trekker (who slept in just a sleeping bag right on the grass), with whom I ended up walking and chatting with part of the way back on the next morning.
