Three Weeks in Japan - Episode 12 (Final Episode)
March 2005

This is the last of the series, a smaller episode because I did not have much footage. My head-mounted camera was out of service (the remote control port on my recorder broke due to snow creeping in during episode 10's hike to the top of mount Misen, so I had to film like any other tourist, with a cumbersome camera in my hand), and in any case there was not much to shoot, the Aichi 2005 expo was a huge let down. After that, we left back for home very early on the next day and I did not have the steam to film anything anymore.

All in all, this was a really great trip. Thanks to my three travel mates, Mathias Morgan and Nicolas, for bearing with me and my camera for 20 days, I know it must have been tedious at times to wait for me to set all my video gear up, complain about the rain, take the gear off, buy extra tapes, and so on, so many kudos to them!

A few stats for the number lovers among you:

The whole raw uncut footage weights in at 24 DV tapes (21 x 80mn + 3 x 60mn) or 1860mn (31 hours) total.
We flew for 24h and 25mn (flight in + flight out)
We traveled approximately 3500km by train in total, over 30+ hours (not counting the many kilometers and hours of subway line).
We slept at 9 different hotels.
We smoked an estimated 1500+ cigarettes between 3 smokers.
We bowed in respect approximately 35 trillion times.
